USING AKADAA
Terms of Service
1. About these terms
These terms are an agreement between INTELLIYA CONSULT LTD, trading as Akadaa, RC 7827471 ("Akadaa"), based in Kano, Nigeria, and the school, college, university or group of schools (the "organisation") that signs up for Akadaa. The person who signs up confirms they are allowed to accept these terms for the organisation.
Everyone who uses Akadaa through an organisation (staff, students, parents and guardians) must also follow the acceptable use rules in section 4. Our Privacy Policy explains how information is handled, and our Data Processing Agreement forms part of these terms.
2. The service
Akadaa helps schools manage admissions, student records, attendance, results, fees, communication with families and related work. Features depend on your plan, your type of school and the settings you choose. We improve Akadaa over time, so features may change. We will not remove a core feature you pay for during a paid period without telling you first.
3. Your organisation's responsibilities
Your organisation controls the records it puts into Akadaa. It is responsible for:
- having a lawful basis to record students, parents, staff and applicants, including a parent's or guardian's consent for children where the law requires it;
- telling the people it records how their information is used, for example in the school's own privacy notice;
- keeping its records accurate and recording only what it needs;
- deciding who gets an account and what each role can see, and removing access when someone leaves;
- making sure its users keep their passwords private and follow these terms; and
- handling requests from parents, students and staff about their records, with our help where needed.
4. Acceptable use
When using Akadaa, you must not:
- break the law, or upload information you have no right to use;
- try to see records you are not allowed to see, or share your account or password;
- try to get around security, test for weaknesses without our written permission, or disrupt the service;
- upload viruses or harmful code, or send spam through Akadaa;
- copy, resell or scrape Akadaa or its content, except your own organisation's records;
- use Akadaa to harass, threaten or harm anyone, especially children; or
- rely on AI answers alone to make decisions about a student, parent or staff member.
If you find a security problem, please tell us at support@akadaa.com. Do not include passwords or private links in your email.
5. Plans and payments
- Akadaa has a free plan and paid plans, shown on our pricing page. Prices are in naira.
- Paid plans are paid by the payment methods shown on your billing page.
- If a payment is not made, we may move your organisation to the free plan or limit access after telling you. Your records are not deleted because of a late payment.
- We may change prices. A change will not affect a period you have already paid for, and we will tell you before it applies.
- If you think you were charged wrongly, email support@akadaa.com and we will look into it.
Fees that parents pay to your school are between your school and the parents. Akadaa records them for the school but does not hold that money.
6. Your organisation's records
Your organisation owns the records it puts into Akadaa. We use them only to provide Akadaa to you, as set out in the Data Processing Agreement. Administrators can download many records from inside Akadaa, and you can ask us for a copy at any time.
7. AI features
Some features use AI to answer questions or suggest next steps. AI answers can be wrong or incomplete. Treat them as help, check anything important, and do not type passwords or unnecessary personal details into them.
8. Availability and support
We work to keep Akadaa running and secure, but we cannot promise it will always be available or free of errors. We may need to pause it for maintenance or urgent fixes. Support is by email at support@akadaa.com.
9. Suspension and closing an account
- Your organisation can stop using Akadaa at any time by telling us at support@akadaa.com.
- We may suspend an account if these terms are seriously broken, if a bill stays unpaid after notice, or to stop a security risk. Where we can, we will tell you first and give you a chance to fix the problem.
- When an account closes, we delete your organisation's records or return them to you, as set out in the Data Processing Agreement.
10. Responsibility and limits
- We provide Akadaa "as is", to the extent the law allows.
- We are not responsible for indirect losses, such as lost profits or lost opportunities, or for losses caused by how your organisation or its users use Akadaa.
- Our total responsibility for any claim is limited to the amount your organisation paid us for Akadaa in the 12 months before the event that led to the claim.
- Nothing in these terms limits any responsibility that cannot be limited under Nigerian law.
11. Changes to these terms
When we change these terms, we update the date and version at the top of this page. If a change is important, we will tell organisation administrators by email or in Akadaa before it takes effect. Continuing to use Akadaa after that means your organisation accepts the new terms.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. If there is a disagreement, we will first try to settle it together in good faith. If we cannot, it will be decided by the courts of Nigeria.
